Mobile Therapeutic Massage.

Maybe you’ve never had a massage at home and you’re wondering what it all means. What do you need to do and what can you expect?

I will break it all down and if you still have questions you can give me a call or send me an email.

I think the last three years we have become very accustomed to having deliveries to our home, whether it’s groceries or even haircuts. Scheduling an appointment with Vicki Vion Iliff is really easy. You can book online and see more information about the types of massage that I do. If you still have questions then feel free to call and I would be happy to answer them for you. After your appointment is scheduled you will receive confirmation and reminders.

I will arrive shortly before our scheduled time to set up the space you have for me. I will bring everything that I need to work, including my table, clean, soft sheets, music(you can choose what you like to listen to), lotions/oils, massage tools and cleaning supplies for my equipment afterwards. Often, I am set up in a living room, sitting room, guest room, guest house or I’ve even worked poolside(if the weather permits).

Do you have pets? That’s wonderful because I love them. They can be free to roam as long as you are comfortable and they are good with strangers. Most of the time my clients have pets that take naps right next to their owners and that is perfectly fine with me. Do you have children and you would like to get a massage while they nap? Excellent idea because I have three and I know how hard it can be to get “me-time”.

While I am setting everything up I will talk with you about your medical history, lifestyle habits, work life, your goals and once everything is arranged I can take an assessment of your standing posture. This gives me a general idea of where I should start and then I compare this to when you lay down. I will then see if there are structural or functional patterns at play. Then it is time to begin.

I will step out of the room to wash my hands and to give you privacy to undress to your comfort level. You are welcome to remain in sports attire as well such as a sports bra(if female) and work-out shorts. I use full sheet draping and I only expose what I am working on at the time such as back, legs and arms. I will also take note of any areas you specifically want to avoid out of preference or injury. Communication is important so if you have questions I am happy to answer them and educate you about what your muscles are telling me as well.

Neuromuscular therapy sessions require active participation at times. This means I may ask you to resist as I apply pressure to a muscle or while I stretch a limb. Other times you may find yourself falling asleep which is perfectly okay. That means your nervous system is responding well while I work on you in a passive state.

After your therapeutic session is concluded, I will then again step out so you can rise slowly, while I will wash my hands. When I return, I will ask you how you are feeling and how the specific areas we worked on are functioning. We will work out a plan for future appointments to reach your goals. I will give you some suggestions as “home-work” to work in conjunction with what we did and I will pack up everything to leave you until next time.

It really is that easy.
